During the weekend of November 6th, 2009; over 175 rescuers gathered at the Guion Farm in the DuPont State Forest for 48 hours of training and exercises.  Attendees from all across the state participated in searches and rescues, better preparing them for a real event.  This event was sponsored by NC Emergency Management, Blue Ridge Community College, the NC Search and Rescue Advisory Council, Henderson County Rescue Squad, Haywood County Emergency Management, Brevard Rescue Squad, Wake Canine Search and Rescue and the NC Forest Service.
