This 20 hour course will focus on the duties of the Situation Unit during a response to a Lost Person Search. The course will include tasking of a SAR Mission , Debriefing of SAR Crews and proper use of data. The course will also include Map exercises to give the student experience in analyzing search segments and be able to reveal holes in coverage. Other topics include Lost Person Behavior and use of Search Planning Software. It is recommended that students have attended a Search Management Course. The DuPont Rescue Experience will simulate search and rescue operations in a wilderness environment. The Exercise will begin on Friday November 5th 1800 and will conclude on Sunday November 7th.
